A twist on the iconic Tom Crean endurance walk, we will start at Anascaul lake and finish at Baile Breac.
An initial steep 550m climb to the summit of Cnoc Mhaoilionáin is followed by a lovely ridge walk with views over the lake before dropping to the Windy Gap. From here there is a more gentle climb to An Cnapán Mór and a 3 km ‘stroll’ to the Conor Pass.
At this point there is an opportunity to finish the walk, or alternatively to join the walk for the second half.
Crossing the summits of An Bhinn Dubh, Macha nag Cab and Cnoc Bhaile Uí Shé on undulating ground we then lose height as we arrive at Mullach Bhéal (398m)
A long 350m ascent brings us to Barr an Ghearáin followed by a ridge walk of 1kmr to Brandon Peak.
We are now on the home straight and Cnoc Bréannainn beckons in the distance. A well-trodden path is followed to the summit and our final descent passing the crosses on the Saints route to Baile Breac.
