- Grade: D – Easy
- Length: 15 km
- Duration: 4.5 hours
- Height gain: 323 m
Start Point: The Junction Bar, Q706 099
This walk starts opposite the Junction Bar on the main N86 road in lower Camp village. Starting on the Dingle Way we head uphill through Knockglass More and Curraduff. Crossing the Finglas river by the stepping stones before continuing to the shoulder of Corrin Hill, and eventually reaching Maumnahaltora.
Leaving the Dingle Way, we arrive at the N86, turn right and walk on the main road for a few minutes before crossing the road to pick up a track on the western shoulder of Corrin Hill. The track joins a minor road heading downhill before coming to Gleann na nGealt and the well “Tobar na nGealt”. The water from the well was thought to cure depression and chemical analysis in 2012 showed the water contained a higher Lithium content compared to other samples taken locally.
From here we follow a minor road for about two kilometres before arriving at the R560 road (Camp to the Connor Pass). Crossing the road we head towards the beach at Cappaclough East. The final section of the walk is on the beach for 3 to 4 kilometres, eventually returning to the main road by a narrow boreen at Kealode, across the road from our starting point.
