Linear walk ** Car drop at finish point in Garraí**
We head NW along a rough track before crossing a field and onto the open
slopes of Croaghskearda (Strikeen) mountain (608m). We have a gradual relatively steep
ascent along the ridge to the summit, before looping around in an Easterly
direction to An Cnapán Mór (649m). Continuing eastwards staying well back from the cliff
face we descend to approx. 460m before a 200m ascent to Banogue summit (640m). We
then retrace our steps back down to 460m and pick up a narrow sheep track which will
bring us down on the western side of Loch Bhearna na Gaoithe. After reaching the lake we cross the bog in a southerly direction for 20 minutes befor reaching an opening in the fence and follow the well defined track to the road and our cars.
